Here is a classic recipe that has become a staple breakfast in our house, the standard green smoothie.  Don’t be scared of the dark green colour! The addition of plenty of fruit, berries, and cashews gives this smoothie a sweet and creamy taste.


This smoothie is perfect for breakfast or a snack partway through your day.
It boasts an impressive 15 grams of fibre and 12 grams of protein, so it will help you start off your day with an energy boost that will keep you feeling full and satisfied.
The key with smoothies is to sip slowly so that the sugar from the fruit gets absorbed gradually, and to give your body the time to feel full.


Yields: 2 servings


  • 3 cups spinach packed
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 cup frozen raspberries
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple or mango
  • 2 tbsp ground flaxseed
  • 1/2 cup soaked cashews
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 4 ice cubes


1. Add all ingredients into a high-speed blender and blend on high until smooth.

2. Adjust sweetness if desired, adding an apple or liquid sweetener to taste if needed


Can be made ahead of time and frozen, then thawed out overnight.
